Production releases are fully containerized using multi-stage Docker builds compiled with Bun for fast execution.

Reverse-proxy routing

A Caddy or Traefik reverse proxy handles traffic, routing requests dynamically to target containers depending on host subdomains — for example api.vend1k.local to the Hono API, and app.vend1k.local to the User app.

Building standalone

Setting the BUILD_STANDALONE=true environment variable tells Next.js to package only the necessary dependencies, yielding small container footprints suitable for AWS or general server hosting.

BUILD_STANDALONE=true bun run build

Each app reads shared configuration from the root .env file at build time, so cross-app URLs and secrets stay centralized.
