Hono Backend API
The single source of truth for data, auth, and business logic.
The API is a lightweight Hono server running under apps/api. It acts as the single source of truth for database transactions, authentication requests, and business logic.
End-to-end types
Frontends do not make un-typed raw fetch requests. They use @vend1k/api-client, which exports fully typed client helpers that mirror Hono routes. If you change a route signature on the API, the Next.js apps will fail compilation until the client call is updated.
Sample route definition
import { Hono } from "hono";
const app = new Hono().get("/health", (c) => c.json({ status: "healthy" }));
export type AppType = typeof app;The exported AppType is what powers the typed client in @vend1k/api-client — the same type is consumed on the frontend to keep requests and responses in sync.
